Princess Diana of Themyscira, an Amazonian warrior, leaves her isolated island paradise to venture into the "Man's World" during World War II, initially to help American intelligence officer Major Steve Trevor, whose plane crashes on the island. Adopting the alias Diana Prince, she becomes Wonder Woman, a powerful superhero fighting injustice, espionage, and Nazi spies. Later, the series jumps forward to the 1970s, where Diana continues her work for an inter-governmental agency, using her superhuman strength, agility, truth-telling lasso, and bullet-deflecting bracelets to combat new threats to peace and equality. The show blends action, adventure, and elements of mythology, embodying themes of justice, truth, and female empowerment.
