Evil follows the unlikely trio of Kristen Bouchard, a skeptical forensic psychologist; David Acosta, a former journalist training to be a Catholic priest; and Ben Shakir, a pragmatic technology expert. They are employed by the Catholic Church to investigate and assess a series of mysterious cases, discerning whether they are truly instances of demonic possession, miraculous events, or simply explainable psychological phenomena or scientific anomalies. Each episode presents a new, unsettling case, challenging their individual beliefs and often pushing them to the brink. As they delve into the darker side of human nature and confront unsettling supernatural occurrences, the team grapples with their faith, their doubts, and the very nature of good and evil, often finding themselves targeted by a malevolent entity that seems to be orchestrating events from the shadows.
