Mulan (1998)

To save her ailing father from conscription, the courageous Mulan disguises herself as a man and joins the Chinese army, training to fight against the invading Huns. With the help of her witty dragon companion Mushu and her loyal horse Khan, Mulan proves her strength and intelligence, outsmarting the enemy and saving China. Though she risks disgrace if her identity is discovered, her bravery earns her the admiration of her comrades and the Emperor himself.
